Publication Explores Electrochemical Behavior of Lanthanum in New Molten Salt Systems

In pursuing his Master's degree, Mark Schvaneveldt explored the electrochemical reduction of lanthanum chloride in two molten salts, CaCl2 and LiCl-CaCl2 eutectic, in which lanthanum reduction had not previously been analyzed. Mark published his results in the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry with Ranon Fuller as a co-author. In addition to the unique salt systems, Mark provides a detailed discussion on some of the nuances on performing and analyzing electroanalytical measurements in molten salts, which are not frequently shared.
